Having practiced yoga for years, not being an expert by any means, but I have come to realize that Yoga and Diabetes share similarities, they are nuanced, but still similar on many levels.

Both teach you to be an observer of your experience and watch your thoughts, sensations and actions materialize into energy - be that the spiritual kind or a nominal Glucose Value.

Starting practicing yoga was almost like the beginning of the rest of my life. I carry it in to my diabetes management every day without fault, and it has helped me tremendously.

I would recommend anyone, diabetics in particular, to give yoga a try. If it makes you feel good and helps you to carry the positive benefits into your daily life and diabetes management - it might just change your life. T1D never takes a day off, we could all benefit from having more ways of keeping it at bay.
